I'm doing some new things with TastyBeatz (hence the break from the last post). A few projects will be in the works, for instance:
A cooking show staring myself, Ren, and our brother Nara that's full of info-tainment!! Or "Afro"-tainment for have only two n*ggs on the show!! ^_^

Impromptu fight choreography with myself, Ren, and Nara (inspired by various martial arts movies and fight choreographers).

A DJ/MC super-group that strives off the vibes of chiptune music and bad ass beats).

This various ventures are yet to gain to specific title, but for the sake of simplicity i'll called this project: "Operation: Trillmatic Force" Cause, we keeps it trill.....homie!

Yah, we always see the 3 to 5 members of various spectrum of the electromagneticosity battling evil-doers and save the world and blah, blah, blah.......what about the ones who has the power, but not so much the goody-goody two-shoes saturday morning special attitude who end up on the sidelines? That were we come in. In a world full of superheroes and sentais, four strangers team up to battle the streotypes of good and evil and laugh in their faces!!! Here come's *enter tokusatsu theme song*: Chou Sentai Reject Team, Go!!!!

Starring: Driger as a sentai-obessessed fanboy who wins his very own Kamen Rider-ish typhoon belt through an online contest on a forum.

Ren as who works as a bartender in the city's most popular nightclub and owns his own bakery. Unknown to the public, he is actually a former member of one of the city's most famous sentai hero teams, the Nin-Nin Denkou Emotirangers (Ligntning Ninja Emotirangers).

Shadow X as an anti-social IT technician for the city's major comglomerate, HenshinWerks. During a solar flare, the city's power output exceeded itself and a massive power surge blew out city blocks. During a routine systems check on the massive bio-powered supercomputer, a surge hit and his body was bombarded with electromagnetic radiation. The computer itself synced up to his body and installed the vastness of the interwebz into his brain. His body gain a cybernetic look. He is the most technologically intelligent being in the planet.

And of course, yours truly, as an ex-military soldier now works as a DJ. During the solar flare, the government's most advanced nano-tech was infected with a bio-tech virus (the AT virus *AT is for auto-tune*......shawtaaay!!) The nano-tech bonded with a pair of my headphones while i was in the lab on base. The nano-tech gave superhuman strength, agility, speed, and an auto-tuned voice!!

This project is in the works for now, but we'll keep you posted!!!

Well, i know when i originally started this blog, i focused on music and random lil tidbits of info-tainment. Now, i'm going to focus solely on its namesake....I'll still keep the same awesome content, but i wanted start talking about my other passion......FOOD!! Either cooking it or eating it (more of that than anything...lol), i'll keep up posted on crazy, strange, scary food to the most delictable culinary gems the world has to offer.

And with that said, i begin.......with bacon. Yah, i know. "Bacon???" Everybody loves bacon. Even vegans will jump out of their bunnyroos to attack a wendy's baconator if need be (like always!!). But my question to you is....How far will your love for bacon go?? Bacon-flavored mints, to chewing gum?? Of even baconnaise (bacon-flavored/infused mayonnaise....yah, i know....)

Plus, Ren is already a certified bartender and i'm a DJ...yay!! I must say, this (compared to my avionics job) is whooole lot more fun and beneficial to me. ...well, correction....he's not. But for the correlation between Catcholism and anime is Rome. Yes, Rome. Today, around fifty cosplayers paraded around the Spanish Square in Rome for during the Romix convention. This was part of the very first cosplay contest since the very first Romix event back in 2001. The Japanese Embassy in Italy supported the event and Misako Aoki, a government-designated otaku ambassador and organizer of the event, also got into the mix. The cosplay contest to select competitors to represent Italy in the next round of the annual World Cosplay Championship to be held in Nagoya in 2010. That's all kinds of kick ass, seriously.

Just the way i like it. In Baltimore, (Yes...Fucking Baltimore!!!), a serial burglar was slain with a katana after he broke into a man’s home. The dude fucking hacked off the burglar’s hand and slashed his neck, which eventually killed him. That's fucking awesome!!!!

The guy who's home was broken to was a medical student at the John Hopkins University. He was living there with some other students too. Well, he he had recently reported a similar break-in in which laptops and a PlayStation were stolen. Good, good..he did the right thing. Well this time another guy, a 40-year-old career criminal just released from prison with a long history of burglaries was going to try to mark this house.

The burglar was discovered breaking in through their garage, and while police were being called the burglar was confronted by the student, who was armed with a katana. Hell yah!!!! The burglar came at the student, who retailiated hitting him with the sword, slicing off his right hand and gave him severe lacerations to the upper torso and one to the neck, finishing the guy.

The police didn't charge the kid, but he's being charged with self-defense. That what i like to see...Real world justice.

Today, Sony Corp unveiled 12 new models of its Walkman portable digital music player capable of displaying the lyrics of songs downloaded from online music libraries. The nine S Series models and three higher-grade A Series models with higher sound quality will hit store shelves in Japan on or after Oct 10, the company said.

Sony President Howard Stringer told a news conference that the new Walkman players will help the company to beat rivals in Sony’s ‘‘home ground’’ of Japan and pave the way for Sony to secure a greater share of the global market, currently dominated by iPod music players produced by Apple Inc of the United States.

The higher-grade A Series models come with 2.8-inch organic electroluminescent displays, while the more affordable S Series models have 2.0-inch displays. Sony said purchasers of the new Walkman players will be able to download songs from both the Mora and iTunes online digital music sites and lyrics from the ‘‘kashipita’’ site of SyncPower Corp., a new Sony ally.

The nine S Series models are expected to retail for 14,000 yen to 25,000 yen, with the three A Series models selling for 24,000 yen to 40,000 yen. So, save up for the Sony Ipod killer....kinda. Hell, if Microsoft gave Apple a run for its money, maybe Sony can, ya know??

Well here in America, the term "otaku" has been stretched out to many different descriptions. Like for one, if you like anime, they consider themselves an "otaku". Tokyo newspaper, Sankei Sports, has announced that it will be holding its next Bikini Photo Session at Studio Folio 3 Studio in Roppongi on Sept 26, at which participants are allowed to take photos of the models around in bikinis and uniforms. *drools* uhhhhhhhhhhh.................MUST...GO.....TO.....ROPPONGI!!!! ^_^ The 5th session will feature Lio, 24, a Tokyo model who enjoys her ballet and dancing; Tomoyo Hoshino, 18, a third-year high school girl from Tochigi; Kana Kanisawa, 25, a “food fighter” from Miyagi; Erika Kuroishi, 25, from Ibaraki and who took out the “Miss Young Magazine” award in 1999; and Kaori Mizusawa, 21, a model from Chiba who enjoys hula hoops.

It was annoucned today that NTT DoCoMo, Japan's leading mobile service, is considering fully entering the U.S. cell phone market next year. Their smartphones and other high-performance handsets with offer the "i-mode" mobile internet service. Fuck 4G, 8G on that ass!! I'm just sayin'. lol.

Anyways, this'll be Japan's first time EVER to release their DoCoMo service overseas. DoCoMo may start their mobile phone service as a mobile virtual network operator leasing network capacity from a major U.S. cell phone service provider. If DoCoMo opts to start the service as an MVNO, it is likely to lease infrastructure from AT&T ot T-Mobile.

blog is s'pose to be about. Anyways, one of my favorite electronica DJ's is back in action after fifteen years, DJ Ken Ishii. On the jacket of his most recent album, he’s pictured wearing suit of samurai armor. Turns out the new look is more than metaphorical.

As he celebrates 15 years since debuting on legendary Belgian techno label R & S Records, Ishii spends as much time abroad as he does at home. While it was Ishii’s Detroit-techno-inspired 1995 album Jelly Tones that brought him worldwide recognition, it’s his skill behind the decks that keeps him in demand as a DJ. While Ishii’s fans will have to wait a bit longer for a new full-length album, the DJ continues to create new music at his home studio in Shinagawa.

His latest project is an application for the Apple iPhone. “What I did is called Play-Pix,” he explains. “The user can make a moving photo album set to my music, and then they can upload a movie to YouTube. It’s going to be released in a month or two.” Those wanting to interact more closely with Ken can also take part in his ongoing collaborative remix contest through Sound & Recordings magazine and his dedicated 15th anniversary MySpace site.

Participants use parts from Ishii’s tracks and remix them into any genre of music they please. The contest runs through August 31, and the winner gets a chance to release the track worldwide through Ishii’s 70 Drums label.

An otaku fan of seiyuu Mai Kadowaki, known for her appearances in Doraemon, Kodomo no Jikan and Strike Witches, and lately Rorona no Atelier and Amagami, has been arrested after threatening to kill her parents.The 26-year-old unemployed seiyuu fan sent a threatening letter to the 28-year-old seiyuu’s office, in which he stated he would soon kill her parents.

He gives the usual bizarre excuse, apparently having resolved to threaten the seiyuu after seeing BBS posts slandering her for “adultery”; “I couldn’t forgive her. I frightened her, I did a bad thing” he confesses. Police discovered he had left his fingerprints all over the threatening missive he sent her, which allowed them to trace him after they found the prints matched fingerprints found on earlier fan letters he had sent.

Celebrities in the public gaze commonly archive fan letters for just these kind of reasons. He has been arrested and charged with intimidation. Dude, what the fuck?!?!? Anyways, yester-fucking-day in Japan Town in San Fran, the first commercial complex that is deidicated to J-pop was opened for the first time....EVER in the states. It's called New People.

Yes, a store strictly for J-pop and fashion and movies. And i ain't talking about the mom and pop stores in the mall, this place is three-stories high full of books, toys, DVD, music, and clothes. This place was japanese clothing stores that carry Baby, the Stars Shine Bright, Alice and the Pirates, Dokidoki, Black Peace Now, and Sou Sou. It also has a movie theather in the basement and an art gallery on the top floor.

Seiji Horibuchi, president of VIZ Pictures Inc and is also one of the key individuals who worked on the New People project, was present at the opening. He annouced the August 15th is National J-POP Day at during the event. I do believe we need to set up a road trip for San Fran, what do you think??? Within this month alone, the japan's female enterntainer world has experienced tragic losts. For instance, singer and actress Noriko Sakai(now 38), and her 10-year old son, have gone missing since August 3rd when her husband was charged for drug possesion. There is no word of her whereabouts or even how see left. Another tragedy this month,vetaran actress Reiko Ohara was found dead in her home this past Thursday in Tokyo's Setagaya Yard. It's believed she has been dead for two weeks before the police found her body. She suffered from Guillain-Barre syndrome, a disorder in the nervous system that causes sudden weakness in the legs and arms, and had not been active in show business since 1999. She was in age of 62. After being formed in March of 2007, the J-rock group Versailles will release their major-label debut single, ASCENDEAD MASTER on June 24 of this year. Back in 2008, they toured Europe and gave awesome shows in five countries. Then, during their concert on March 26 of this year, they announced that they will be going to major this summer. The single, ASCENDEAD MASTER , features 6 minutes A-side track. Limited edition includes a bonus DVD featuring a music video spanning over 15 minutes. This epic (like level 80 epic!!) music video is to going to come in three installments on the bonus DVD included with the limited editions Type A, Type B, and Type C, each of them including one installment of the movie. Me and my fellow DJ's have been remininsing about our favorite record stores. Digging through endless stacks of original and re-printed vinyls in a dusty, moldy, rat-infested basement with only those three light bulbs illuminating the way and the smell of mircowavable burritos emintaing in the room. Ahhh......memories. Well, our days of splunking has died with the rise of internet downloads and even the archaic medium of CDs. With this, record store across the US has closed up shop due to lost of business, lease payment defeciencies, and the manager's DJ friend getting caught with the owner's daughter in the dusty, dark basement. Ahhh.......memories. Anywho, in our favoritest of places, Japan, they deicided to keep hope alive and the vinyl collections and sales are unbelieveble!!! It's DJ's mecca!!! With that said, i would like to show you the five best record store in all of Nippon.

(1): Be-In Records: Be-In's owner, 52-year-old Chinone Yoshiaki is a trule lover of classic vinyl. It is stationed among rehearsal studios and cellphone shops on a grungy Koenji shotengai. Yoshiaki’s store, in business since 2000, is stacked floor to ceiling with vinyl, everything from ¥1,000 Belgian-issued raw funk compilations to a ¥1.8 million, gold-and-black first pressing of The Beatles’ Please Please Me. Customers are a mixture of serious collectors—40 to 50-year-old salarymen who might spend ¥100,000-¥200,000 in a visit—and DJs seeking out rare-as-hen’s-teeth ’60s beat, soul or ska 45s.

The store manager, Yuji Yanagisawa, says he opened the shop to give people a chance to hear underground music from overseas. While Yanagisawa has wholeheartedly embraced the internet—a whopping 40 percent of sales come through the shop’s website, which brims with impassioned recommendations from the staff—dance-music fans could and should spend hours in the shop itself, a laidback place with vinyl stacked inside retractable bins so that even during peak hours your elbows won’t be banging against a fellow shopper’s.

(4): Dub Store: In the shadow of Nishi-Shinjuku’s skyscrapers and around the corner from Tokyo’s “Vinyl Valley” behind Seibu-Shinjuku station lies Dub Store, in operation since 1997. This shop features Jamaican music from way back to the present day, from early rockers and calypso through to ska, skinhead, lover’s rock, and latter-day dancehall and ragga, as well as a small selection of 45s devoted to contemporary Japanese reggae artists. Lately, Dub Store has added boutique London-based reissue labels such as Soul Jazz and Honest Jon’s to their stock. Dub Store also does a mean line in vinyl paraphernalia, from classy record bags to those easy-to-lose adapters that fit in the middle of 45s. (5): Escalator Records: A record shop, label and cafe situated in a quiet residential street, Escalator provides welcome respite in the otherwise manic Harajuku. Owner and DJ Masashi Naka (Haruka’s husband) used to be a buyer for the dearly departed Zest, a record store that helped launch the Shibuya-kei scene that briefly put Japanese pop on the global map in the mid-’90s. Escalator’s own imprint—as well as the (mainly British) indie and electro imports that you can pick up in the record shop—is more frenetic.

It's that time!!!!! Spring is just around the corner, and with it comes the smell of cherry blossoms… and burning rubber. Must be time for the D1 Grand Prix drift championship. Drifting began over 30 years ago in mountain roads across Japan, as illegal racers practiced the art of swinging the rears of their cars out in a controlled powerslide to carry more speed around corners. Over time, the technique began to appear in Japanese motor racing. “Drift King” Keiichi Tsuchiya elevated it to an art form during the ’80s, captivating car enthusiasts who practiced drifting on deserted roads at night.

In the ’90s, drifting made the move onto the racetracks, as drift-specific events began to be organized. However, it wasn’t until 2000 that Tsuchiya and Daijiro Inada, the founder of Option Magazine and the Tokyo Auto Salon, set up a dedicated nationwide championship. A year later, the D1 Grand Prix was born—and the rest, as they say, is history. Ahhhhh.....if only i own a skyline. Wait, sorry, thats Ren's dream-mobile. Fine, i'll take the Pinto.

Because, Tokyo has a unique look that makes it different from any other city in the world. The city turns into an epicenter for paper lanterns and large neon lights. Japanese men and women like to have a nice night out after a hard day of work. Tokyo turns into one of the wildest cities in all of the world, as there are constantly people everywhere and nobody seems to sleep. Districts known for their entertainment are ridiculously crowded, no matter at what time of day or night it is. Many shops and clubs stay open until 5 AM, when the subways first start running the next day. Tokyo has everything, no matter what you are searching for. Jazz shows, reggae shows, rock shows, dance clubs, gay bars, sex shows and anything else you can think of.

Though Tokyo's nightlife is wild and crazy, there is no place one can consider "the place to be" over other spots. Hotspots of the night are all over the city, varying in their price range, workers and most importantly, their atmosphere. Famous spots include Roppongi and Ginza, Kabuki-cho found in Shinjuku. A good way to start the night off is to just walk around the town, taking a look at the neighborhoods and just taking it all in. The atmosphere is unlike any other city. The streets will be overflowing with people and the neon lights will blind your eyes, but there are plenty of surprises to keep an eye out for.

There are plenty of bars, clubs and discos filled with male and female Japanese teenagers. However, for the older Japanese, the nightlife mainly attracts men. On the expensive end of the nightlife for older males are geisha bars, where talented women entertain crowds by singing, playing traditional Japanese musical instruments and just talking to the visitors. These kinds of places are found mainly in Kyoto and are usually closed to foreigners. They also are ridiculously expensive. The only way a foreigner might find a way in is by being invited by someone that should be there.

There are also many hostess bars. A woman will essentially boost your ego, as she sits with you, talks, listens to your problems and gives you drinks. This can be costly however as you will be the one buying her drinks. Hostess bars have been around in Japan for centuries, but a foreigner might not find it worthwhile, as the hostess usually can only speak Japanese. It is a way to get away from the troubles of work and family though, so they are quite popular.

The most popular place to see Japanese nightlife however is in the drinking bars, where most people go for a fun evening out. Many bars even have themes, such as Western-style and Japanese-style watering holes. Dance clubs as well as places to see live music are also very popular with young Tokyo teens. There are also relatively cheap restaurants that are quite good to eat out spread across throughout the city.

Well, this puts a lil' damper on my plans back to Japan. Yesterday, the U.S. Embassy in Japan issued an alert to the American community that Americans in Tokyo to stop going the the bars in Roppongi based on the frequent increase of reported drink-spiking incidents.The number of reports of U.S. citizens being drugged in bars has increased significantly in recent weeks. Typically, the victim unknowingly drinks a beverage that has been secretly mixed with a drug that renders the victim unconscious for several hours, during which time large sums of money are charged to the victim’s credit card or the card is stolen outright. Victims sometimes regain consciousness in the bar or club, while at other times the victim awakens on the street. That sucks. That really sucks. According to the embassy, establishments in the area of Roppongi Intersection (Roppongi Dori and Gaienhigashi-dori) have had the highest level of reported incidents. Well, guys, i guess we'll be doing our heavy drinking in Shibuya instead.

Yes, Aural Vampire. Hey, hey, hey...Not "Oral Vampire" you pervs!! They are a Japanese electronic band which consists of Exo-Chika (vocals/lyrics) and Raveman (music). They are from Tokyo, Japan and compose mainly electropop, darkwave, and synthpop music with occasional industrial elements. Aural Vampire has toured Europe numerous times and been featured in magazines such as Astan Magazine and The Dose. They are currently under an indie record label. Aural Vampire released their full-length debut album, Vampire Ecstasy, in 2004. Since then they have only released one online single, which is available on their website, and a few tracks and remixes on compilations, but they remained active as a live band. Their song "-cannibal coast-" was featured on Beatmania IIDX 15: DJ Troopers. Aural Vampire - Freeeze!!
